About School Exchange Program Master Program


School of Economics, Shanghai University, was established after the re-construction of the former International College of Business and Administration in July 2008. There are two departments, the Department of Economics and the Department of Finance. There are also several research centers, such as the Industrial Economics Research Center, the Contemporary Finance Research Center, China's Service Economy Research Center. The School of Economics is the official partner of the CFA with the MBA Center of Shanghai University.

Faculty

The School of Economics has a team with over 120 teachers and administrative staff, which includes 73 professionalteachers, 13 professors, and 36 associate professors. 50 teachers have obtained PhD degrees, and about 40% of teachers have overseas study or training experience.

The School of Economics has invited several well-known professors from other universities abroad as visiting professors, such as Prof. Zhang Guoping from Taiwan National Tsing Hua University, Prof. Zhong Yang from the University of Tennessee, Prof. Takashi Sugimoto from Kyoto University, and Fujita Masahisa, professor in Spatial Economics from Japan.The school has also invited over ten professionals from other domestic universities, governments and enterprises who have profound knowledge and experiences as visiting professors. All the professors input new energy into our teaching resources.


International Exchange

The School has entered into international cooperation agreements and student exchange agreements with 15 foreign universities, such as the EM Strasbourg Business School, Groupe Ecole Superieure de Commerce Chambery Savoie, ESC Rennes, University West, University of Michigan-Dearborn, University of Canberra, Hong Kong City University, and more, with cooperative fields including joint research, teaching, and student and faculty exchange.

At present, the school has around 900 registered undergraduates and 350 graduates, as well as more than 100 overseas students studying for degrees. Every year, the School of Economics sends more than 40 students abroad to study or work as interns, and receives about 100 overseas students from the USA, Sweden, France, Germany, Austria, Hong Kong and other regions for one year or half a year study programs.

The School of Economics strongly supports teachers to cooperate with foreign scholars in teaching, joint research and joining high-level international academic conferences. In 2012, the School of Economics invited 15 professors from abroad to give lectures, including Professor A.J.Venables from University of Oxford, Professor Anil K. Bera from Illinois University in the United States, and Professor Niels Christoffer Thygesen from University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
